Garage Sale – March 20th!

Simply Scrapbooks Garage Sale Information

When: Saturday, March 20th Time: 10am to 4pm Where: Simply Scrapbooks Classroom

If you are interested in participating, please read all of the information/requirements carefully.

Spots may be purchased for $5.00.

Drop off Time: Thursday, March 18th from 11am to 6pm. During drop off, your items will be inspected to ensure that they are labeled correctly.

Just to clean things up a bit, you do not have to stay with your items all day. This is something that we will be taking care of. We will keep track of your sales. Unfortunately, we cannot be help responsible for lost or stolen items. We will have an employee in the classroom at all items, and we will treat your items with great care. Please make sure that your price tags are securely attached to your items. We will set up your items in the crop room. We are going to try something a little different this time. We are going to group like items together. For instance, all punches will be on one table, etc. All of your items will NOT be together on one table.

How it Works

If you are interested in selling items during our garage sale, you will need to call the store and reserve your spot. 918.343.5553

Tagging Instructions: All of your items will need to be tagged in a very specific manner. If you items are not properly tagged, they will have to be corrected before we will allow them into the sale. All tags will be inspected during drop off time.

We will provide barcoded labels for you to use. If you need more, we will be happy to print them for you, we just need 24 hours notice and will not be printing any more labels after March 16th.

  1. Once you’ve packages your items, you will need to attach your label. This can be done several different ways. If the item is fabric, you could safety pin the label to the item. If your items are in a bag or other container, you will simply need to attach the tag to your item. Please make sure that your tag is attached securely.

After the Sale

We will tally up grand totals for everyone, and these will be available on Monday after 1pm. You will receive Simply Scrapbooks bucks, equal to your total sales, and these can be redeemed in the store just like cash. So, if you sell $20 worth of items in our garage sale you will receive $20 in Simply Scrapbooks Bucks to spend on new stuff.

Adhesive Review

When we heard our most favorite tape runner (Dot N Roller) has been discontinued we almost cried! Okay, I know in the grand scheme of life, this is not a HUGE deal, but in our scrapbooking life it is a BIG deal. We set out to try all different types of adhesives (so you wouldn’t have to) and tell you what we think. We have a few things that are a MUST! Our choice of adhesive has to be refillable, permanent, STRONG, affordable, have a cap (very important!), easy to use and refill, and comfortable. We have 2 winners!

Tombow Permanent Adhesive Dots and the Glue Glider Pro

We like the Tombow Adhesive Dots because it was as close to Dot N Roller as we could find. It has a cap that is attached (so you can close it up when it is in your bag and not get adhesive everywhere), easily refillable, $5.99 for dispenser and refills are only $3.99, it is permanent and strong (maybe stronger than Dot N Roller).

The Glue Glider Pro was our second choice. I think it got 2nd place because of size of the dispenser (large pink one in picture) and the adhesive is a little more expensive per foot than the Tombow that won 1st place. I personally like it better because it has 60 feet on a refill versus 39 feet (less refills to change) and you can use different refills in the same dispenser by just sliding them out (think repositionable, adhesive strips, etc).

What we didn’t like about the others:

Scotch Permanent- STRINGY and it had no cap AdTech Permanent Bond- stringy and detachable cap (easy to lose!) Therm O Web Memory Tape Runner XL- akward cap (goes off to right side and in the way), I felt like the tape runner could easily break too. Tombow Mono Adhesive Power Bond- detachable cap and very stringy

Scrapbook Adhesives EZ Runner- no cap, non refillable, and little bits of white tape rather than a glue type runner

We also tried the ATG gun (not pictured). This is the MOMMA HONDO of tape runners. I like mine okay, not the first tape runner I go to, it is VERY BIG, no cap, I find it hard to refill ( I have not practiced much), refills are cheap but dispenser is pricey.

I hope this review helps you! Don’t forget Saturday, September 12th spend $20 and we will give you a Tombow Adhesive Dot Permanent Dispenser for FREE!
